Wat Si Chum
The Wat Si Chum in Sukhothai (Thailand) is home to this giant Buddha. The legend says that King Naresuan (1555-1605) set up camp at the temple before fighting the Burmese over the control of the Siam Kingdom. One of the King’s soldiers made a speech to boost the troops, hidden behind Buddha, giving the impression that Buddha was speaking. The statue's nickname “speaking Buddha” still remains.
